Damish Nisal is a highly innovative and well-balanced individual with a strong background in computer science. He is currently completing his final year as an undergraduate in the BSc(Hons) Software Engineering program at the University of Colombo School of Computing. As part of his final year research, he is conducting an NLP project that utilizes a deep learning method and incorporates story points. Damish has gained valuable experience in software engineering through a 7-month internship at the LIA P2P team of CodeGen International (PVT) Ltd.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Damish has consistently been active in extracurricular activities at both the school and university levels. He currently serves as the Vice captain of the university hockey team, and this year, his team was successful in winning the Inter University Hockey Championship. Damish is also a member of the Sri Lanka Combine University Team for the 2022-2023 season, where he plays hockey. He has held leadership positions in various clubs, including the IEEE Student Chapter UCSC and the LEO Club.
